A guide to building a house in rust. Rust. My home is my castle. Windows and door

In connection with the latest updates to the new Rust Experimental, I decided to write an article about how to build and improve a house... The principle of building a house has remained the same, but the process itself has changed a little. And for many newbies, this news will be useful. I will also describe a couple of tips on how to quickly build a small, minimally protected home. Since it can be very difficult to build a house on high online servers, it often happens that you are simply killed when you build it.

As an example, I will take the situation when you logged into the server for the first time and you have nothing. First of all, write in the chat / kit starter on many servers there is this mod, which helps a lot in the initial stages of the game. After you have registered the command in the chat, at least first-aid kits and a stone ax should appear in your backpack. If this did not happen, we go and extract resources for the ax, with its help you will get the tree much faster, and we will need a lot of it.

Rust E xperimental how to build a house

After collecting several thousand wood, craft paper (Paper), and from it a construction plan (Building Plan) and start building the house. To do this, take the construction plan that we have just made and hold down the right mouse button.

We put the foundation (Foundation), it is advisable to choose a place with a flat landscape.

Now you need to build the walls (Wall-Plan), but do not forget to put the doorway (Doorway Plan).

And immediately place the Wooden Door Plan.

Now we need to cover all this with the Floor Plan.

When you are finished with the building, be sure to put a lock on the door, otherwise any passer-by will be able to enter you. Also, don't forget to put a tool cabinet in the center of the house (Tool Cupboard) .

Now some advice on how how to build a house in Rust Experimental:

  • Firstly, given that we initially have very few resources, I advise you to build a small hut with a 1x1 foundation.
  • There is enough space in such a house for a sleeping bag and a couple of boxes.
  • After you have accumulated more wood, expand your house to 3x3 dimensions, as shown in the picture below.

  • We store the tool cabinet and especially important loot in the central room 1x1.

Rust E xperimental how to improve your home

Now let's move on to the question " how to improve the house?"If in previous versions we had to endlessly knock with a wooden hammer or, as the people say, a mallet, now we just need to pick up the Hammer, point at any part of the house, for example a wall and hold down the right mouse button (RMB). In the menu that appears, select "Stone Wall" and then by pressing the left mouse button you will improve a wooden wall to a stone one. Naturally, you should have stones in your backpack.

How to remove a building in Rust Experimental

By the way, if you did something wrong when building a house, do not be discouraged. To remove building in new Rust Experimental you will need the Hammer again. Take it in hand, select the desired building and hold down the RMB, in the menu that appears, you need to select the "Demolish" item, as indicated above in the screenshot.

And overgrown with a crowd of fans. Every day new people join the game community, key stores post messages about the availability of coveted access codes along with recognized hits, like Dayz standalone and Battlefield 4 ... The secret of the popularity of the game, which has not even grown to beta, is in its simplicity and complexity at the same time. In one moment you can find rare items for which you can exchange a lot, and in another moment you can lose it all. What if you want to get only positive emotions from the game, and not kill your nerve cells?

My home is my castle.

At the very start of the game, when your resources are limited, you can only dream of building a safe house. But when there is already a stove in your wooden booth, a workbench, and the chest is full building materials- this is a sign that you need to move to a more reliable shelter.

Everyone decides for himself how to choose a place. Of course, it is better to settle near resource deposits and animal habitats. Keep in mind that not only you like these locations, but, unexpectedly, 99 percent of the rest of the players. Therefore, it is better to build near calm people, or generally away from everyone. As they say - a good neighbor is a gift from God. In Rust, bad neighbors won't annoy you with late night music or boots pounding under your door early in the morning. Most likely, an arrow or its lead equivalent will fly in your back, which can be a little unsettling.

When the place is chosen, it is necessary to think over the plan of the house, or rather the reliability of the future building. At the moment, all walls and doors in the game break, so the safety of your things depends on the amount of explosives in the one who comes for them.

The most important thing when building a permanent home is not to use wooden doors. In the current build at the moment, wooden doors break in a few minutes with the most primitive tools, while an iron door breaks only with two backpacks of explosives (among players it is called c4, although this is not correct), which are not so easy to make. Therefore, most players simply will not waste resources on hacking. small house with an iron door, but no one will pass by the wooden ones.

Do not think that the iron door is a panacea for everything. It is better to start building a house with four foundations arranged in a square. Then, if necessary, enclose this square with a foundation with the installation of walls, a ceiling, and so on. In principle, the shape of the house can be any, but the guarantee of the reliability of your property lies in doorways with iron doors that block the interior space of your house. They should be located at each junction of the foundation., this will protect your entire home if one of the outer walls is blown up. As a result of two spent "c4" marauders will get only what is located in one room.

Do not rush to rejoice, dividing the house into rooms - through the cracks of wooden and iron walls, everything is perfectly visible, so attackers can easily figure out a room with precious boxes. Against this, players usually use either an extra row of walls, expanding their house, or put a large number of empty trick boxes.

I advise you to do this: put wooden barriers to all external walls that will prevent you from trying to look through the cracks into the house. The result will be not only complete blocking of information about the location of things and owners in the house, but also absolute concealment of lighted sources of fire from prying eyes at night. By the way, this is very convenient, and many players do not smelt ore or cook at night for fear of being seen by strangers. After all, a residential building among the empty server booths is the primary target of the robbery for the survivors.

It may seem to many that two or more storey house more reliable due to the fact that it will be more difficult to reach the chests. I have to upset you - it is not so. The robbers build ladders leading to your walls, which explode with ease. As a result, the farthest and safest corner room on the Nth floor can be looted by blowing up just one wall.

What can you do to avoid this? If you rely on the number of storeys in your house, then make sure that the stairs cannot be adjusted close to you. There are many options - the use of the features of the terrain, which does not allow strangers to establish a foundation, rocks, and the like nearby. If you decide to build on an open and level place, enclose your house with an additional foundation ring and install beams in it in such a way that nothing else can be attached to them. The construction in the game is designed in such a way that if at least one beam interferes with a wall or staircase, it simply will not be installed. The height of the pillars must match the height of the building.

In addition to walls, doorways, stairs and ceilings, the player can install walls with windows. It is, of course, beautiful, but do not forget about safety. As my friend says “ Nubs in Rust are all about romance. They never put bars on the windows, because the sunset is not very beautiful this way.". And I advise you to beat all the romantic nonsense out of yourself and put bars on all windows, even those on the tenth floor... The reason - all the same stairs, quickly installed by the robbers already familiar to us.

And finally. After exiting the game, the character does not disappear, but falls asleep in a sweet dream. Take care not to fall asleep on the street or in a room with windows, even if they are barred.

A house in Rust is not just a place to live, it is, above all, a hideout. Also, the house in the game serves as a warehouse in which the player stores all his property, regardless of whether it is valuable or not. And also, the house in the game is a kind of workshop, in which you can safely do what you need in the gameplay. Each player or, so to speak, user, must have his own, high-quality and safe house... Of course, it is worth noting that the house should be as secretive as possible, only in this case you will be able to calmly accumulate everything that is useful in the game, namely resources, which are then easily transformed into the necessary weapon, the necessary armor and even explosives. Probably, there is no need to say that all of the above will help you control the entire service, but only if you use it correctly.

Making a house in RUST

Building a quality, safe, and reliable home in Rust is tricky, but doable. The business of building a house should be approached as seriously as possible, because just one, incorrectly placed, element of the house will lead to the fact that all efforts will be in vain. Quite a logical question is asked by players who are just starting to play the game (we advise you to read the article): "How can you remove Pilar?" There is only one answer - absolutely nothing, it is not destroyed, even if you put together all your explosives and activate the charge.

Of course, the most best house- this is a house made of metal, but if you are not that rich in the game, then you will have to make housing out of wood. It is worth remembering that it is best to start building a house away from the roads, since in this case the house will be the safest. Better to build it in general in the foothills or even in the mountains. In these places, there are usually no bandits or other individuals who can even go through walls using illegal schemes and codes. The most important parameter of a future house is its number of storeys. 5 floors will be enough to be considered safe and comfortable. Each floor should be closed only with a metal door in order to protect the house from burglary.

And the last, most important nuance for protecting your home is a special arrangement of the surrounding area. It will protect your home from intruders who will try to use the stairs to get directly to last floor bypassing many locked doors. To do this, you need to fill solid foundation around the perimeter of the house and stick the so-called saws into it, which will not allow robbers to attach a ladder to your home. This means that ill-wishers will have to break many locks to get to the top floor. This will take a very long time and, most likely, the thieves will not even start getting involved with such protection, but will go looking for a house that will be much easier to get into.

How to build a house in RUST

Tools

  • The main tool for building everything in Rust is the Build Plan. With its help, everything is built, from a miserable change house to a huge base. You can do it through the crafting menu, the Q button, in the BUILD section. The building plan is made from one sheet of paper, which in turn is made of 5 wood and is made in the RESOURCES section. That is, you only need 5 trees to make a building plan.

  • The second important construction tool is the mallet. It allows you to modify and repair your buildings. After erecting the foundation, walls and everything that is possible with the building plan, it is very important to modify them with a mallet to the level of a tree or higher, since structures made of twigs can even be broken with a stone. A mallet is created in the TOOLS section of the crafting menu Q. You need 100 wood to create it.

How to build

  • First, choose where you are going to build, preferably a flat and large enough place. Bring the building plan to the panel and select it, an image of the planned foundation will appear in front of you. If the image is red, then you cannot install it here, if it is blue, you can.

  • You are free to build, whatever you want and as you please. But there are some things that are important to any good base.

The sides are soft and hard

  • This is important to know: against a wall, doorways, window openings and doors have an outer and inner side. They differ greatly in their security, the inner side is much less resistant to mechanical stress than the outer one. It would be a big mistake to put walls or doors on the wrong side. You can read more about this.
  • Here is an example, the walls are turned towards us with the inner side:

Locks and doors

  • Wooden locks are very cheap, easy to make and a plus at the very beginning of the game, but they are damn inconvenient. You have to carry that damn key with you, and if you lose it, you won't be able to enter or leave the house. Even worse, if they kill you near the house and pick up your key, your door is no longer a problem for the enemy, but for you. The best thing is to get rid of them as soon as possible by replacing them with code ones. You enter the code once and the door automatically opens whenever you want, just never share your code with strangers!
  • There is a lock made of wood with only 100 wood and another 25 wood for a key. Lock with a code - 100 pieces of metal.
  • Doors have properties similar to those of walls, they also have a strong and weak side... Doors must be installed so that they open inward, then they will look with the outer, solid side outward. A wooden door can be burned with a flamethrower, a sheet metal door is easy to blow up. The most reliable are armored doors, the sooner you install them, the better.

Tool cabinet

  • The wardrobe is the most important element of the base. Whoever gains access to your closet will be able to build, upgrade, and sometimes demolish everything in and around your home. You must be sure that you have complete confidence in the people who have access to the cabinet and that no one else can access it. The cabinet has a coverage area, a radius of 8 foundations, 8 floors up and 1 floor down. It is not possible to install another in the coverage area of one cabinet.

Gateway

  • The airlock is where you have two (or more) doors installed, between the inside of your base and the outside. It allows you to be sure that if someone is chasing you when you return to a base or a door under siege, enemies will not be able to get directly to your central part of the base and loot. Accordingly, the larger the base, the more gateways you need.

Improvement

Modernization levels: from branches, wood, stone, metal sheets, armor.

  • Now in the game, during construction, there are 4 levels of modernization: wood, stone, metal and armored.
  • Wooden weakest, 250 health against the wall. They can be burned with fire and broken with axes, it costs 200 wood to upgrade. You do not need to extract a lot of resources for modernization, but unfortunately, having wooden base you become easy prey. We advise you to upgrade your base to stone or iron faster, so as not to lose everything in one flamethrower.
  • The stone is the second level, 500 health points at the walls. Structures are completely immune to fire, but can be smashed by tools such as pickaxes. The cost of upgrading is 300 stones.
  • The third level is sheet iron buildings, the walls have 750 health each. They are immune to fire, and from the outside are almost completely immune to melee weapons. The cost of upgrading is 150 metal fragments. Appearance very menacing.
  • Armored level, the most durable, as much as 1000 health points at the walls. Immunity to fire, as well as to melee weapons from the outside. However, it is very expensive, 300 wood, 400 stone, and 50 high quality metal to upgrade to armored. Due to the expensive high quality metal, this level of modernization is not common and usually only in the very heart of the base.
